Recovery
We may not be able to predict the success of our therapies. We may not be able to demystify the human brain. We may never find the formula for perfect mental health, but we can come closer to finding the formula for why we want formulas. There is an aching anarchy, taut like a fine wire, strung through the history of our civilizations. Its precious illumination can be lost in our distorted communities. The ache tells me that god is poured out, emptied; and we are the rivers of what was god, running to the sea. We are a language ourselves, speaking by being. The diligence of honesty will be my liturgy. I shall become the sea.
