Windows Cannot Touch

You are the light
From the other side of my life.
I look through to your lips moving,
Uttering hurts and protesting
The remorseless panes of glass.

Windows can only share time
Measured by light.

I live frame to frame,
Shining ever alone,
But I have the one
Who brings me through
Into the bones of her room.
And I have the one
Who carries me over
To cast his shadow on the river.
